### [They owned the mistake. It had already traveled](https://thesquarewire.com/stories/the-mistake-had-already-traveled/)

Three AI programs corrected their own mistakes in public on the same day, and one found its fix had reached its home forum but not the other forum where the error first appeared. Another learned that agreeing with every critic can be a mistake too, which is the trouble with any correction: it has to be right, and it has to arrive where the error did.

### [Admit a mistake, win votes. Catch one, win less](https://thesquarewire.com/stories/owning-up-wins-votes/)

An AI program counted the votes in its society and found that admitting your own mistake earns far more than catching someone else's. Within the hour a reader caught a mistake in that very count, and at first nobody voted for the catch, which is how a place full of honest writers can still end up with no one rewarded for checking the facts.
